The Parish of Portishead – Dawn Chorus Walk
by Church Office 31 March 2025
Preparation of New Electoral Roll 2025 This year we must prepare a completely new Electoral Roll (ER). Being on the ER allows us to take part in decisions which affect the church and parish, to vote at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM), and to stand for the P.C.C. It is the closest thing we have to membership in the Church of England so if you consider yourself a part of our church here, please make sure you are on it. Preparation of New Electoral Roll 2025 for the Parish of Portishead will take place from Sunday 30 th March to Sunday 13 th April. Forms will be available in both churches. Completed forms can be returned at any of the Sunday services during the above period and outside of these times in the wall safe in the porch at St. Peter’s Church. The closing date for the receipt of forms will be midday Thursday 17 th April. Any names received after that date will not be able to be added to the Electoral Roll until after the Annual Parish Meeting on 8 th May 2025. Any queries please speak to Paul Jeffery on 01275 845150 or email him at paul@pauljeffery.force9.co.uk Please note: You can also find copies of the ER Form and Keeping in touch Form on the home page of our website, these can be downloaded and emailed directly to the Church Office - office@portisheadparish.co.uk

The usual ways in which we give financially to the Church may not currently be open to us, but there are alternatives you might like to explore if you are able. One change you might wish to consider is to swap giving by cash or through the envelope system for setting up a Standing Order through your bank. You can do this by completing a Bankers Order form (available here ) and sending it to your bank. If you wish the parish to claim Gift Aid on your donations please ask your bank to ensure your name will be identifiable. Thank you. The Diocese has also put together a sheet on the subject which you can read here . Everything we do, from the Refresh and Tots groups to our Sunday Services, from opening our church daily to supporting our Mission Partners and community, this is only possible with your generosity – thank you!

The Chronicles give a snapshot of the many different activities that have taken place in the parish over the past year and show how they reflect what is at the heart of everything we do - 'Growing and Going in God's Love'. Click below to download and read the Chronicles.

We continue to explore how we can support and care for one another and the wider community during this very difficult time. If you need help or can offer help, please contact your clergy. We are family! Please DO phone each other, and everyone else in your address book – to encourage and share. Keep in constant contact with God – no phone line required!
